Job Summary:
Director, Business Development is primarily responsible for identifying and building relationships with clients that will result in the sale of Sapient business and technology consulting services, specifically Quality Assurance and Testing.

The Director of Business Development is required to establish and manage sales strategy for prospects and existing customers, increase lead generation, leverage senior Sapient executives and allocate organizational resources wisely and efficiently in order to close deals and increase customer satisfaction.

The Director, Business Development will have the ability to create and execute appropriate sales strategy for any opportunity and be able to operate independently while working closely with others as required.

This position is responsible for overseeing the development and presentation of the solution value proposition, negotiating pricing and contractual terms, and aligning with key third party influencers.


Responsibilities:
Percentage of Time Spent

60%

  • Independently identify and influence potential customers
  • Manage and influence named accounts within region

    10%
  • Work with strategic alliance partners to drive joint business opportunities and leverage revenue growth in the territory

    30%
  • Partner with internal consulting services organization to properly manage client expectations and drive customer satisfaction

    Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Sapient's sales force automation system for CRM, activity tracking and opportunity forecasting.
  • Other projects and administrative tasks as assigned


    Experience Guidelines:

  • Minimum of 7 years in technology related sales with at least 3 years of specific professional services sales to Sr. level executives of fortune 500 companies
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding annual quotas
  • History of establishing, expanding and closing complex, multi-million dollar service engagements
  • Experience negotiating and closing multi-year outsourcing deals with a significant offshore component
  • Ability to independently and strategically build a pipeline of business
  • Understanding of solution selling and proven ability to bring together technical, customer and partner resources
  • Competitive industry knowledge
  • Ability to forecast with background details supporting your assessment
  • Ability to lead a team of resources through complex sales cycles
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make compelling presentations to an audience of diverse business stakeholders
  • Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Relationship Development of Quality Assurance and Testing professional services offerings is desired but not required.

    Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or technology related field. Equivalent experience may be considered
