Market Overview:
Less than 20% of the $21B spent advertising online is being spent on true brand advertising. Most online advertising is still direct response in nature. The vast majority of the $300B spent in offline advertising is spent on brand advertising. People consume 25% of their media online, but only 6% of advertising dollars are spent online.
Major brands know that their consumers are online and want to advertise there, but lack the measurement systems to give them confidence that they can spend and manage advertising dollars online wisely.
All of this is about to change in a big way.

This system provides a scalable way for online publishers and advertising agencies to give their brand clients the confidence to spend more advertising dollars online.
Ad Catalyst reports the Brand Lift associated with online campaigns as opposed to the current insufficient measures like CTR, Impressions, and Uniques. Understanding the brand based impact of advertising helps major online publishers attract and retain branded advertisers at higher rates. Digital ad agencies also use Ad Catalyst to more efficiently and effectively manage their clients' online advertising efforts, especially in terms of media buying.
Vizu is already working with many premier online publishers, agencies and ad networks.
Vizu is located in San Francisco, California and is backed by Draper, Fisher, Jurvetson; Greycroft Partners; and WR Hambrecht.
Job Description
Vizu is seeking a talented leader to ramp up its marketing efforts. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of Vizu's marketing strategy and programs. This is a business to business marketing position that will be responsible for building the Vizu brand and driving qualified leads to Vizu's direct sales force.
The first order of business for this position will be to coordinate and lead the formal launch of Ad-Catalyst to the market place. This hand-on position will be responsible for clarifying and delivering Vizu's marketing communication (PR, website, marketing material); packaging the product for sale (pricing, terms, etc.); and providing market based input to product development. This position will interface heavily with Sales, Business Development, Client Service, and Product Development.
The position will report to the CEO.

Experience:
- Required: Significant, well rounded expertise with business to business marketing in the ad supported digital media arena
- Relevant work would include digital advertising, online agencies, ad supported online publishing, online ad serving, online market research

o Ad Serving: Double Click, aQuantive, 24/7 Real Media, AOL / Platform A, etc.
o Online Ad Research: Dynamic Logic, Insight Express, Factor TG, etc.
o Premier Digital Publishers: Yahoo!, IAC, Fox Interactive, Google, etc.
o Digital Ad Agencies: Avenue A / Razorfish, AKQA, Media Smith
- Experience with market research is a plus
- Direct experience with online media buying/selling is a plus
- College degree required, top tier MBA preferred
- Work experience: approximately 7 to 17 years
