| GENERAL SUMMARY: The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Event Production Training Team consists of Spring Semester Interns, Summer Interns, and Fall Semester Interns. Each Intern will have an opportunity to work directly with Avon Walk for Breast Cancer staff on various aspects of large scale event production. Currently we are seeking qualified candidates for Spring, Summer, and Fall volunteer internship positions for our 2008 Event. The Avon Walks are produced by the Avon Foundation, an accredited 501(c)(3) public charity, which also oversees management and distribution of the funds raised. 100% of the net proceeds from the Avon Walks are returned to the breast cancer cause nationwide to support breast cancer awareness, screening and diagnosis, treatment, support services and scientific research. For more information about the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer please visit www.avonwalk.org. ESSENTIAL INTERNSHIP FUNCTIONS: 1. Assist Avon Walk staff in daily event planning and production 2. Work with operations and logistics team with community outreach and support route development 3. Assist Avon Walk staff at recruitment and informational meetings as well as larger special events 4. Offer impeccable customer service to all event participants. 5. Perform other related duties as assigned by management 6. Light clerical work as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail and interpersonal skills. 2. Demonstrated project management skills, including facility in managing and prioritizing projects with multiple and often competing deadlines, and ability to work under pressure. 3. Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service. 4. Ability to work independently, to work under supervision, and to work in a team-based and goal-oriented environment. 5. Skilled with the PC and Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel. 6. Ability to maintain confidentiality. 7. Ability to communicate with employees and other agency contacts in a courteous and professional manner. This includes client interactions with the Avon Foundation and its affiliates. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Upper class Undergraduates and Graduate Students Preferred.
