Position Description
Experience Level: Combination of education and work experience typically equivalent to a Bachelor s degree and 7-10 years technical project management experience.
Description: Directs and monitors all activities for large, high risk, major technology-based projects from initiation to delivery. Projects cross platforms, applications, and/or business lines. Works with business partners to develop technology concepts, requirements, design alternatives, project schedules, and costs for new systems initiatives. Plans and directs complex program schedules and budget, monitoring project status in comparison to cost/time projections. Provides consistent and comprehensive status reports, project updates, and ongoing cost analyses, significant issue management and resolution, communication with business lines and technology management, often at senior management levels. May act as an internal consultant within technology and business groups to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiency. May serve as a lead by providing direction to less experienced technical project management staff while serving in a project leadership role. Typically reports to a Technology Manager.
OCS Technology is embarking on a major effort to replace the vendor product at the core of our Email Response Management System (ERMS). We seek an experienced Technical Project Manager/Technical Writer to manage the deployment of a new vendor product within our existing infrastructure, and the integration of the product with a variety of external applications.
As PM, will Work with Platform Engineering, Architecture/Development staff, and Production Support to articulate requirements; establish and maintain project schedules; ensure that all project components are assigned to appropriate resources and that all participants are clear on their responsibilities; negotiate adjustments to project schedules appropriately to accommodate changing priorities; make certain that system integration is validated in a timely manner; provide consistent and comprehensive status reports, significant issue management and resolution, and communication with overall Project Manager and Technology Management.
As Technical Writer, will create Project Definition/Requirements documentation and will assist with the preparation of technical design documentation, by enforcing standardized documentation format, producing product overview documentation, gathering and editing input from engineering staff on implementation specifics, initiating a living platform specification, and ensuring that thorough trouble-shooting instructions are handed over to the Production Support team.
