Position: User Experience Designer

You are a creative and user focused designer (with some skills building what you design) who is passionate about creating functional websites for large audiences.

you know

* how to weave designs out of user demands, wireframes, and brainstorming sessions
* the effects of colors, fonts, spacing, and dimension on how a user perceives a site
* the difference between unobtrusive and obtrusive javascript methods
* why you should always clear your floats
* tell us what you really think about Jakob Nielsen
* what is wrong with the blue on our walls
* Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver... (forget it, the entire CS suite) like the back of your hand

your skills include

* you have had 5+ years of experience designing and building websites
* participating in user discussions, designing and conducting focus groups
* transforming ideas to design wireframes using rapid prototyping methods
* you know that UCD and HCI aren't acronyms to be thrown around lightly
* standards compliant HTML and CSS
* experience with Javascript (Ajax/Prototype/Scriptaculous is a plus)
* you know how to build dynamic websites with languages like PHP, Ruby, or JSP
